SYMPA took part in the IV International Congress of Belarusian Studies
October 3-5, in Kaunas the Vytautas Magnus University hosted more than 450 researchers from different countries discussing the development of Belarus in the context of Central and Eastern Europe in the social, political, economic, historical, and other areas - 15 thematic panels in total.
SYMPA experts made presentations in the sections "Public administration and public policy in Belarus" and "Belarusian civil society: current state and future prospects". Ina Ramasheuskaya described the paralysis of public policy and the possibilities for reforms in Belarus. Dzmitry Markusheuski described the basic principles of social service, and compared the international and national legal context. Uladzimir Kavalkin presented the outcomes of the study "Evaluation of the public procurement system in Belarus". Yulya Beltyugova presented a report on local government reform in the region.
